Paul Mazzariello, Deacon
Deacon Paul is married to his best friend Carole. They have three children and two grandchildren. Born in Springfield, Paul attended Cathedral High School and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western New England College. He has been the owner of VIN's Car Wash and Detail Shop in Holyoke since 1980.
Deacon Paul has been living in Granby for over twenty years and joined Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in the role of Deacon following his ordination on May 14, 2005. Deacon Paul assists the Pastor during the Saturday Mass, preaches monthly, and serves as Chaplain to the inmates at the Men’s Correctional Facility in Ludlow.
Kathryn Buckley-Brawner, Pastoral Minister & Faith
Kathryn Buckley-Brawner is first and foremost the mother of Kyrsten, a privilege she shares with long-time friend and husband Bill. Before joining the pastoral ministry team at Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1997, Kathryn Buckley-Brawner was a marketing and international sales manager in agribusiness. Kathryn has served as Pastoral Minister at IHM since 2002, and currently also serves as Parish Faith Formation Leader for the parish “Generations of Faith” formation process.
A catechist for over 20 years, Kathryn has served as coordinator of Catechetical Resources and Director of Catechetical Ministry and holds Catechetical Leader certification. She has a Master’s degree in Applied Theology from the College of Our Lady of the Elms. Kathryn also serves as Director of the Office of Peace and Justice for Catholic Charities of Springfield, Coordinator of the local Catholic Campaign for Human Development and as Director of Catholic Relief Services for the Diocese of Springfield. “We chose IHM as our parish community upon our arrival from California. It has been a joy and privilege to celebrate, grow and minister with this faith family”.
Marilyn Menard, Secretary
Marilyn has been a parishioner of IHM since 1972. She is married, has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Before coming to work for IHM, she spent many years as International Sales Manager for a major air compressor parts company.
At IHM, she serves as lay lector and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. She is also a member of the Women's Club, and the Finance Committee. As Parish Secretary, Marilyn looks to offer help and support in whatever capacity necessary for the growth of our parish and its ministries.
Karen Blanchard, Secretary
Karen is a Holyoke native and a graduate of Springfield College with a Master's Degree in Human Services Administration. She is responsible for all social media, the website, database, media relations, and other administrative tasks. She is a member of the Finance Committee.
Lisa Griffin, Administrative Assistant to Faith
Lisa has been a parishioner of IHM most of her life, receiving all of her sacraments here. She is currently married and has three grown children. Lisa loves the beach, gardening, reading, physical activity, crafts and of course family and friends. Her most favorite word is WHY and she says that her most important job has been bringing up her children both in family life and in their faith. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College (with a concentration in Business Management and minors in Psychology and Sociology). Many of her career opportunities included: receptionist at National Evaluations Systems, Owner and operator of a small fitness center in Holyoke and Manager for Supermart Books. She took a break from the corporate world to bring up her family. During that time, Lisa joined the Parish Pastoral Council and the Catechetical team at IHM before becoming the Faith Formation Assistant in 2006 and Faith Formation Coordinator in 2010. In addition to being Faith Formation Coordinator, Lisa is an Education Case Manager for the Hampden County Sherriff's Department.
Daniel Mashia, Choir Director & Organist
Dan comes to us after serving as organist for 17 years and choir director for one year at St. Anne Church in Chicopee. He has been playing piano for most of his life and a church organist since 1982, including Organist and Choir Director at St. John the Baptist (now St. Elizabeth) parish in Ludlow for 4 years. Dan has worked as the Music Director for over 60 community shows in Western Massachusetts, including many with the Granby Arts Project and South Hadley Community Theatre, and more recently with Chicopee Comprehensive High School (CCHS) and Starlight Productions. He is currently a Manufacturing Engineer at L-3 KEO in Northampton and taught mathematics at CCHS for 11 years.
Terri Lambert, Organist
Terri has been serving as Choir Organist at Immaculate Heart of Mary since 2014. She’s been a church organist for the last 25 years serving in 7 Protestant denominations and 5 Catholic churches in upstate NY, Virginia, and MA. She has also taught piano and organ lessons for the past 15 years. Terri was born in Lowell, MA. She received the B.A. from Rivier College in N.H. and an M.A. from the UMass in Lowell. She’s married to a 22-year USAF Veteran and they have an adult son. She taught school for 10 years and worked for the USAF for 30 years. Since retiring, she has devoted most of her time to learning and playing music. Terri believes that music is a universal language and everyone can understand the message whether it’s joyful, peaceful, sorrowful and/or prayerful just by listening. Thus, her main goal as organist at IHM is to bring God’s people to praise Him through her music.
